Prosecutors have brought charges for attempted murder and other offenses, weeks after the victim’s father was horrified to learn that an aunt had stabbed her 4-year-old daughter “multiple times” while watching her at a New Jersey residence.
Police in Paterson were called to a residence at East 24th Street and 10th Avenue on August 23, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, after it was reported that a 4-year-old child had been stabbed. The youngster was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital after authorities reported that she had been stabbed “multiple times.”
The girl’s father, Faherem LaSane, expressed his astonishment and disbelief at the incident during an on-camera interview with the local new outlet. He named his kid Amber and reported that she had a perforated liver and lung from the stabbing. When his daughter “heard my voice she started making eye contact trying to see me,” the father described the “joy” he experienced when he saw her open her eyes at the hospital.
As the victim’s mother took her out of the house that day, a witness to the stabbing incident reportedly saw that the girl also had a “big gash on her forehead.”

Prosecutors added that Campechano was not quickly located and was eventually apprehended on Monday, a month later.
Although the authorities have just stated that there was a disagreement as the cause of the violence, it appears that there may have been some red flags regarding the defendant’s mental health.
Campechano was known by the locals for talking to herself while she walked around the area.
Currently, the offender faces multiple charges, the most serious being first-degree attempted murder. In addition, Campechano is accused of endangering children and possessing weapons.
