Police Apprehend Hit-and-Run Suspect after Intense Chase in South Florida

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – On Friday night, a driver attempted to evade law enforcement in a chase that started in Broward and concluded in Miami-Dade.

According to the Miramar Police Department, the pursuit began when a police officer spotted a driver who was a suspect in a hit-and-run incident involving an argument on Friday in the vicinity of Southwest 23 Street and 60 Way in Miramar.

The driver was eventually apprehended by police officers in Miami-Dade near the intersection of Northwest 188 Street and 41 Avenue in Miami Gardens. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel were also present at the scene.

Although the involvement of Florida Highway Patrol troopers, Broward Sheriff’s Office aviation deputies, and police officers from Miramar, Miami Gardens, and Miami-Dade had been heard through police scanner communications during the pursuit, the agencies had yet to officially confirm their participation.
