Florida’s New Publix Store: Adding a New Feature, Saying Goodbye to Another

As many Floridians are aware, Publix has been rapidly growing in the state of Florida in 2024, occasionally opening new locations with additional amenities and features. A new Publix is coming to Palm Bay, Florida, and it will have one new feature but lose another.

About The Publix in Question:  The Shoppes at Cypress Bay will house the new Publix, which will be situated at 9179 Babcock Street in Palm Bay. It will have a pharmacy and a liquor store and be more than 48,000 square feet.

This Publix will have two stories, which is a new feature. The first floor will be used for all shopping, while the second floor will be used for dining.

On the second level, which has a view of the first, customers can eat a Pub sub.

The Missing Feature: Patrons who have always enjoyed the green Publix scale by the entrance doors will be let down. The new Publix in Palm Bay won’t have a scale.

The scales are no longer produced by the manufacturer.

As a result, older businesses still carry them, but new stores don’t have much inventory. When necessary, Publix makes an effort to maintain old scales on hand for parts.

Newer Publix stores will ultimately run out of them due to a lack of new supply, and customers may not realize what they are missing.
