Texas Smuggling Operation Man Arrested for Transporting 100 Migrants in Locked Trailer

WPBN: The office of the United States Attorney has announced that a federal grand jury has charged a guy from Texas on charges of smuggling a big group of over one hundred migrants in a confined trailer. Among those migrants were children.

According to statements made by the United States Attorney Alamdar Hamdani on Monday, Juan Manuel Aguirre, who is 49 years old, has been charged with three charges of conspiracy to transport unauthorized aliens and transportation of undocumented aliens inside the United States for the purpose of commercial benefit.

According to Hamdani, Aguirre, who is from Laredo, Texas, was taken into custody when officials discovered 101 migrants imprisoned inside a trailer on December 2nd. Among the migrants were 12 children.

Law enforcement officials reportedly witnessed the migrants being put into the trailer in the parking lot of a warehouse in Laredo, as stated in a criminal complaint. During the course of the traffic check, law enforcement officers searched the vehicle, and it is believed that they discovered the migrants.

According to the complaint, two of the migrants stated that they were having difficulty breathing and that they were afraid for their lives as a result of the conditions that existed within the trailer.

According to the documents kept by the Webb County Jail, Aguirre was taken into custody. On December 5th, he was released to a federal agency after being booked into the facility.

Additionally, the United States Customs and Border Protection, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Webb County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance in this investigation.

Laredo is the same border city in South Texas that was the location where a trailer carrying migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico was found in San Antonio.
