Breaking News JSO Seeks Public Assistance in Hillcrest Store Robbery Case!

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking into a reported armed robbery at a Tropical Food store in the Hillcrest neighborhood.

JSO says that around 5:30 p.m., a man went into a shop that sold tropical foods. Once the suspect was inside the business, he showed the worker a gun and forced the worker to give him money.

There were rumors that the two people got into a fight, which caused the victim to get several injuries that were not life-threatening. Luckily, the suspect was the only one in the store at the time of the fight, so no shots were fired at him.

The suspect is currently on the run. He or she is said to be in their mid-30s, wearing a hoodie, and carrying a gun. At this point, we don’t know if anything was taken from the store because the stock hasn’t been counted.

JSO officials are still looking into what happened and will provide reports as they learn more. Anyone who knows something about this case is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS with any information that could help the probe.
