On Saturday night, shots were fired in a neighborhood in Fort Pierce, causing residents to duck for cover and run.
Jean, a resident of the area who did not disclose his last name, stated that he was seated immediately next to the man who was shot in Saturday night’s murder-suicide. Jean did not provide his last name.
He claimed that the two individuals in question had been good friends at one point in time but that they had suddenly stopped communicating with one another. Jean stated that they hadn’t communicated with one another in years.
Jean stated that he never expected either man to shoot the other, despite the fact that they were not friends with each other.
He said that, “I don’t think I’m OK.”
The 200 block of North Eighth Street was the location where the call came in to the Fort Pierce police department reporting a shooting just before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Officers located a male, 58 years old, who had been shot many times after they got at the scene. They also discovered a man of 66 years old who looked to have used the gun to shoot himself in the head.
“Everybody is scared, everybody is scared,” one woman said.
According to police, the men were transferred to a hospital and died. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is encouraged to contact the police.
