A strong storm hit Orlando on Thursday afternoon. It knocked down a tree near Thorton Avenue and South Street, causing power lines to fall and resulting in power outages.

More details about the power outage can be found elsewhere.

Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries, and the power was quickly restored after the incident.

Two window cleaners found themselves unexpectedly stranded in The Vue at Lake Eola, a large apartment building located in the heart of downtown Orlando, during the hurricane.

Darrell Beausivoir, a resident of the neighborhood, overheard them yelling for assistance.

Strong gusts caused the platform that the workers were standing on, which was connected to the tall building, to move about quite a bit as a result of the storm.

According to the most recent information, the workers evacuated the building and took refuge on a nearby balcony just before the fire brigade arrived.

After that, members of the Orlando Fire Department went into the building and assisted the workers in securely evacuating the structure.
