A woman from Missouri with ties to Green Country was arrested on charges that she tried to steal Graceland from the family of the late Elvis Presley to cheat them out of money.

Lisa Jeanine Findley is the one who is being tried. She reportedly planned to sell Presley’s home and other things in a fake auction.

Prosecutors said Findley lied about being three different people who worked for a made-up lender. They said she then lied when she said Presley’s daughter had used Graceland as security for a loan of more than $3 million that she didn’t pay back before she died.

When FOX23 looked into it, they learned that Findley had been working in Oklahoma since the early 1990s.

The pictures of her above are from 2010 and 2012; she was arrested for threatening a witness in 2004 and for a con game in 2009.

Findley was locked up in Oklahoma. She did not go to prison for more than two years and was on probation for three more years.

The court records show that she had other cases in Oklahoma. They were charged with bank theft and making false statements to get a loan from a bank in 2004 in the Northern District of Oklahoma.

The court papers say she broke the rules when she was caught in 2009, so a federal judge gave her a 21-month sentence. From March 2015 until July 2016, when she was freed, she did time. A big part of that time was spent in Ft. Worth’s Carswell Federal Prison.

Findley is being charged with letter fraud and identity theft which goes too far. She could spend at least two years in prison for severe identity theft and up to twenty years in prison for mail fraud if she is found guilty.
