After being accused of sexually abusing many young girls at his previous San Bernardino County home, a 47-year-old Riverside County resident who has volunteered and served as a pastor in churches around the Inland Empire was taken into custody on Wednesday, authorities said.

The charges against Jose Alcides Vasquez, who is currently a Menifee resident, were brought to the attention of investigators in August 2021, according to a press statement from OPD.

The youngster claimed her neighbor had sexually abused her, and at that point, a school police resource officer in Ontario reported this information to the high school’s officials.

Even though the investigation was still ongoing, according to the authorities, in July 2024 a second victim came forward and gave detectives fresh information that implicated Vasquez even further.

According to investigators, the 47-year-old was most recently the senior pastor of Menifee’s Camino De Santidad Church. Without any problems, he was taken into custody at his home on September 5 and charged with many felonies in the West Valley Detention Center.

It is advised that anyone with information on this investigation or who believes they may have been a victim of Vasquez’s should get in touch with Det. J. Hernandez at 909-408-1292 or the Ontario Police Department at 909-986-6711.
