Another 15-year-old has been taken into custody and charged in the killing of a teenager who was discovered fatally shot in September in the Sandalwood neighborhood, as stated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Gabriel Waisanen was apprehended for the murder and attempted robbery of 15-year-old Me’Kel Queen. Authorities reported that Waisanen both orchestrated and supplied the firearm for the alleged robbery.
Bobby Trustin Dann was arrested the day after the incident on September 2nd and faced charges of murder linked to Queen’s passing.
Police officers discovered Queen motionless on Java Drive. He succumbed to his injuries at the location.
Initially, investigators expressed uncertainty regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting, though witnesses attested to overhearing some form of disagreement prior to the incident.
Dann’s arrest record suggests that Queen was shot and killed during a potentially drug-related robbery. The record also notes that law enforcement located shell casings from two different firearms at the scene, implying an exchange of gunfire.
Dann was identified as the primary suspect in the shooting and taken into custody the following day on charges of felony murder and armed robbery.
Felony murder charges can be filed when a person dies as a result of a felony committed by the suspect, such as armed robbery.
