If, in spite of your best efforts, you have not received your monthly payment for receiving SNAP benefits in the United States, review the forthcoming paydays. Up until September 28, 2024, food stamps will be distributed.
Your household size, income, and other variables will all affect how much SNAP benefits you receive. The District of Columbia and the 48 contiguous states have similar maximum amounts, with checks up to $1,751 if you are eight years old.
September will soon see the last SNAP benefit payouts
The final Food Stamps are being sent by 17 States in September, based on the USDA’s payment schedule. As a result, 33 states, or the majority of them, have completed distributing food stamps.
On September 20, certain States will stop providing SNAP benefits. Ohio, Tennessee, New Mexico, and Washington, for example. It will take longer for Texas and Florida, until September 28.

Prior to the 2025 COLA hike, SNAP amounts
You might get up to $1,155 if your family of five is eligible for the maximum amount. The maximum amount that can be awarded to an individual is $291, or an average of $202.
A family of three may be eligible for up to $766. A monthly stipend of up to $535 could be given to married couples or households with two people. Remember that these funds are transferred to EBT cards.
After that, you are free to spend this money at any participating farmer’s market, supermarket, or retailer. When you go grocery shopping, find out if the store takes EBT cards and look for foods that qualify for SNAP.
There are limitations and you can only purchase what the USDA permits
These upper limits will not change until September 30, 2024. On October 1, 2024, SNAP benefits will increase following the COLA boost in 2025. The sums for the future are as follows:
