According to authorities, a two-year-old child in Arizona passed away after her father abandoned her in a sweltering car during the state’s triple-digit temperatures.

The 2-year-old was purposefully left in the car by the father when he returned home from running errands with his daughter on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Brunenkant, he left the air conditioner on and the car running.

The father went inside, and when he came out of the home thirty to sixty minutes later, the automobile was turned off, according to Brunenkant.

According to Brunenkant, the father contacted 911 because the 2-year-old was not responding. According to the police, she was transferred to a hospital and later declared dead.

On Tuesday, the mercury in Marana rose to an intense 111 degrees. Marana is located close outside of Tucson, where there is a warning in effect for extreme heat.

The demise was referred to by Brunenkant as a “heat-related tragedy.”

According to Brunenkant on Wednesday, charges have not been ruled out even if none have been filed as of yet. According to him, authorities are searching the neighborhood for security footage and conducting interviews.

The nationwide charity KidsAndCars.org reports that as of now this year, at least nine children have perished in overheated cars across the United States.
