After a six-year-old girl vanished in Western Arkansas over thirty years ago, investigators have used DNA evidence to identify a suspect in the kid’s abduction.

Morgan Nick was stolen from the parking lot of a Little League ballfield in the remote hamlet of Alma on the evening of June 9, 1995, according to the Alma Police Department.

According to a press statement from the Alma authorities Department, local authorities obtained a description of the suspect along with information about a red vehicle with a white camper shell that the perpetrator is said to have driven.

Billy Jack Lincks, a driver of a red truck, was the first person of interest that the authorities discovered in 1995. Authorities reported that Lincks was detained a few months later for allegedly requesting sex with a minor.

After questioning Lincks over Nick’s disappearance, police released him because, according to the release, he “denied any knowledge of Morgan’s abduction and appeared to be truthful.”

Officials stated that despite “thousands of hours investigating more than 10,000 leads,” detectives from Alma Police and other law enforcement agencies were unable to draw any meaningful conclusions from the investigation.

Detectives from Alma Police didn’t start going over the initial phases of the inquiry until 2019.

The press statement states that the red truck that Lincks had at the time of Nick’s abduction was found by authorities. It had been sold multiple times.

Detectives were able to thoroughly inspect the truck since its current owner gave permission. The forensic testing revealed that the hair evidence that was submitted for analysis belonged to Colleen Nick, Morgan Nick’s mother, or one of Colleen’s siblings or children, according to the police.

“Physical evidence collected from the truck that Lincks owned when Morgan was abducted strongly indicates that Morgan had been in his truck,” according to the release.

Officials report that Nick is still missing and that Lincks passed away in 2000.

“An army of supporters, advocates, and heroes have rallied to uncover the truth about her disappearance,” Colleen Nick stated.

“He stole Morgan from me, her dad, Logan, and Taryn. He didn’t see that he could never win,” she added. “Because our love for Morgan – her memory, her voice – outlasted his life.”
