Following the death of her boyfriend’s 9-year-old daughter and the discovery of video footage showing her giving the order for a 100-pound dog to attack her and then beating the kid with her hands and feet, Florida authorities claim they have arrested a 34-year-old woman.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Tyshael Elise Martin is accused with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in connection with Jamaria Sessions’ passing. On the morning of June 17, deputies were called to a residence located in the 16000 block of Harbar Oaks Drive in Montverde.
According to a probable cause arrest document, paramedics discovered Jamaria naked and covered with “a significant number of abrasions, small punctures, burns, possible bite marks, and bruising covering her body, all in various stages of healing.”
Martin stated that the family was scheduled to depart on a vacation in California that morning. She informed the police that she had attempted to rouse Jamaria, but that she was icy and unresponsive. Nearly 3,000 videos from both inside and outside the house were provided to the detectives.
Six recordings taken on June 15 just before midnight were examined by deputies. They purport to depict Jamaria being “viciously attacked by the family pet, a male rottweiler weighing 103 pounds.”
According to the complaint, Martin is seen holding the dog’s leash and “encouraging the dog to bite” Jamaria while she lies on the ground, barely visible to the camera.
“The next clips show Jamaria Sessions staggering, nude and disheveled,” according to the the affidavit. “Jamaria’s hair, previously in a partial bun, was now messy, and her extensions were falling out of her hair. It appeared that the dog had bitten the child’s head, pulling at her hair, at the command of Tyshael Martin.”
The girl is then said to have been forced by Martin to remain still while raising her arms in the air. Martin kicked Jamaria because she seemed lost and swayed in her orbit, according to the deputies’ report. The girl went down on the floor.
“The child lay motionless, moaning in pain, as Tyshael Martin continued to kick her hip and eventually her stomach area at full force,” deputies stated. “When the child did not get up, Tyshael Martin then grabbed the child by her hair, pulling her across the floor, with minimal resistance by Jamaria Sessions, who appeared to be disorientated and motionless.”
Deputies reported that Martin kept beating Jamaria while uttering a phrase that sounded like “I’m fixin’ to kill her.”

According to the affidavit, detectives also discovered that Martin punished herself with workouts like treadmill jogging, lengthy wall sits, and running while holding her hands up. It is also said that Martin would pinch, kick, and strike the girl.
The girl died on Tuesday after suffering heat injuries to her right foot and blunt force injuries to her head, chest, and limbs, according to an autopsy. The death was declared a homicide by the medical examiner.
Martin was taken into custody by deputies on Wednesday and is currently being held without bond at the Lake County Jail. Thursday was her first public appearance.
