In the US, low-income families rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for vital support. Many families are experiencing minor adjustments to their benefits as a result of the recent Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for 2025.
With the 2025 COLA, SNAP payments for a household of four in the 48 contiguous states can now reach up to $975, an increase of just $2. Even higher payouts are available in some areas, such as Guam, where families of four can receive up to $1,437 until November 10.
Increased SNAP Benefits
The only U.S. territory that provides SNAP benefits that are greater than those in the contiguous 48 states is Guam. SNAP beneficiaries on Guam can receive up to $1,437, while the maximum payment for a family of four is $975 in most states.
This significant disparity highlights the disparities in aid between various areas, most likely as a result of some regions’ greater cost of living.
SNAP benefits are disbursed by each state and territory according to a different timetable during the month. Here is a summary of the potential due dates for payments in the 48 contiguous states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Washington, D.C.
Extended SNAP Distribution
The states with the longest delivery times for November’s SNAP benefits are Florida and Texas. Florida will distribute benefits from November 1 to November 28 and Texas will do the same.
Compared to other states with shorter distribution windows, recipients in these states would have to wait longer for their benefits to arrive.
