MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. – An investigation is now being conducted by the police into a ride in a neighborhood in Miami Gardens that, according to eyewitnesses, resulted in a collision involving two males and sparked concerns from surprised locals.
According to locals, the suspects broke out of their vehicle and fled the scene after driving into a yard around the 4400 block of Northwest 202nd Street on Sunday afternoon.
According to the testimonies of witnesses, the collision was preceded by an even greater chaos.
“[They were] chasing someone into my yard,” stated a local neighbor named Jan Daniel.
Around six o’clock in the evening, according to Daniel, her mother, who is 82 years old, gave her a call to inform her about the event.
Daniel described the vehicle as a “small SUV that went through the yard and exited through the back.”
Daniel’s mother reportedly informed him that the cops were pursuing the Kia SUV that plowed through their yard and threatened to run them over.
Daniel said, “He was unaware that it was a cul-de-sac, and the only way out was to come through here.”
As of Sunday night, it was not apparent what caused the collision or whether or not any arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
“We figured it would be a normal Sunday, and this happens,” said Daniel. “We were wrong.”
The Kia was seen a little distance down the road, close to the intersection of Northwest 39th Court and 201st Street.
On Sunday evening, 7News cameras filmed the SUV being transported to the site on the flatbed of a tow truck.
7News’ request for further information regarding the event was not met with a response from the Miami Gardens Police Department.
