BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — After a guy from Titusville was shot and killed in an apartment building early on Monday, police in Brevard County are looking for suspects.
Carl Wigfall, who was 56 years old, was named as the person who died.
Police say they think they know who did this and are looking for possible suspects right now.
They want people to know two things: first, that the suspect or suspects are still out there, and second, that cops say they will find them.
“But it’s a sad situation,” said a friend.
“It was very shocking,” said Dorothy Williams, a family friend of the victim.
Titusville police say that 911 calls came in right after shots were fired at a small apartment building in west downtown.
Everyone was scared. It was 3:30 in the morning. When the cops got to Palmetto Street, Wigfall was dead in an apartment.
Williams said that she knows the woman who was killed.
“She told me yesterday at the store down there to pray for her, and you know, it was just heartache,” Williams said.
The police are very sure that Wigfall knew who shot him and killed him. The victim’s family and friends want the community to come together and do the right thing.
A neighbor said, “We hope as a community that it will stop, and it will take everyone working together to stop that kind of crime.”
Williams said, “When you do wrong, you should pay for it.”
Titusville police say they can always use more information. If you know something that could help, call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
