Cocaine Trafficking Suspect Surrenders After High-Speed Chase on I-10

An Orange County man who was evading law enforcement until heavy traffic on Interstate 10 compelled him to pull over and turn himself in is now being held for cocaine trafficking in Florida.

His name is Morales, Franciso Jesus. Although Osceola County, Florida, investigators are familiar with the 36-year-old drug suspect, his face may not be known to officers here.

There are three warrants out for him related to the delivery, sale, and inability to identify cocaine.

It started early this afternoon when Morales continued to drive across multiple lanes without turning on his turn signal and accelerated when he noticed lights flashing in his rearview mirror and heard the siren.

The drug interdiction officers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were trying to stop him. He sped by a female car once, cutting onto the shoulder before returning to the main lanes that headed west.

Deputies and police pursued the group until they reached Vidor. Morales had to pull over on I-10 due to traffic congestion. He exited the vehicle with his hands raised, and the officers threatened to shoot him.

After putting him in a patrol car and letting the female passenger go, they had his car transported to a parking area of a shopping center safely.

Here, Morales will be charged with several offenses, including driving while under the influence. Those significant allegations of cocaine trafficking are still pending against him in Florida.
