After interrupting one of the children’s birthday parties, a Texas man is accused of shooting his ex in the face in front of their kids.
According to Houston police, Jalin J. Foreman, 27, is accused of killing Jalen Whitlock, 25. This was revealed on Sunday. Whitlock was shot in the face while celebrating her 6-year-old daughter’s birthday at home, and she later passed away.
A criminal complaint states that Foreman arrived to Whitlock’s townhome’s door just before 8:30 p.m. He was “trying to come to the house to give his daughter a birthday [gift], but [Whitlock] had told [Foreman] that he cannot come to the house.,” the report said.
The person who answered the door was Whitlock’s boyfriend of approximately a year, according to the police, and he and Foreman allegedly got into a heated argument because of a previous incident in which Foreman had shot at Whitlock’s house.
According to the lawsuit, Foreman “taunted him and said things about fighting, shooting, and to come to the back to fight.” Whitlock’s children “were all together near the front entrance of the house” while Foreman then “became more aggressive and went back to his truck which was parked directly in front of the house.”
Whitlock’s boyfriend claims that Foreman “kept talking about shooting and fighting,” so he went to the kitchen to fetch a gun while he was supposedly still yelling.
According to Whitlock’s boyfriend, Foreman opened fire as he was making his way back toward the front door. The boyfriend claims that he retaliated. Whitlock is said to have “yelled his name and grabbed the kids near the front door” at that point.
Whitlock’s boyfriend discovered she had been shot and was on the ground after closing the front door. The complaint states that he then “told the kids to go upstairs.”
Another witness, a neighbor, reportedly said to the police that she observed a man, subsequently identified as Foreman, pull up to the house in a white Chevy Tahoe, get out, and yell at it before he opened fire on the townhome, firing at least five shots.
A white SUV is said to have left the site and then returned a short while later, according to surveillance footage. Foreman was seen by police with a gun in the Chevy Tahoe when it was stopped at a stop sign, according to another witness.

It is reported that Foreman drove off in a white Chevrolet Tahoe.
Police said that even though they did not immediately identify Foreman as the perpetrator, they did so in the days following the shooting.
“We feel confident we’re going to obviously find this individual,” Houston Police Lt. R. Willkens stated. “Hopefully, if he’s smart, he’ll turn himself in and come tell us exactly why he did what he did.”
As of Monday morning, Foreman was still wanted by the authorities.
