Police stated on Thursday night that a suspected intoxicated driver on the Lower East Side of New York City crashed his car into a park, killing two people and injuring seven more.
Within three minutes, the Fire Department of New York arrived on the site and discovered four victims pinned beneath a gray Ford F-150 pickup vehicle, according to officials.
Authorities said that the patients were taken out from under the car by FDNY and the NYPD’s emergency services team.
According to authorities, two people were declared dead. Officials reported that two victims were in critical condition, three victims were in serious condition, and two victims had injuries that did not pose a threat to their lives.

According to the authorities, a woman and her two little children are among the hospitalized.
At the site, first responders reported smelling alcohol, according to authorities. They also said that tests are being done to find out if the motorist was drunk at the time of the collision.
Good Samaritans pinned down the driver, who is suspected of driving under the influence, and detained him until police came, according to officials.
Although the investigation is still ongoing, authorities stated that there is now no suspicion of terrorism.
