Deadly Red Light Violation: SUV Kills Pickup Truck Driver in Dearborn

According to authorities, the woman, 33, was murdered on Friday morning when her car on Dearborn’s Michigan Avenue was struck by a speeding SUV that had run a red light.

Around seven minutes before midnight on Friday, Dearborn police were called to a collision near Michigan Avenue and Nowlin Street.

Authorities claim that an SUV that was speeding east on Michigan Avenue ran a red light at the junction of Nowlin Street and struck a Ford F-150 that was heading north on Nowlin.

At the scene, the driver of the F-150, a Dearborn lady of 33 years old, was declared dead. A critical condition was brought to a local hospital by the SUV’s driver, a 26-year-old Taylor woman.

“Our sincere condolences go out to the loved ones of the deceased and our thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating accident,” Dearborn Police Commander Timothy McHale in a statement stated. “We thank the community for their patience as we continue to keep the area closed and carry out our investigation into this serious accident.”
