Deadly Violence at Dallas Gathering: Woman Dead, 8 Injured in Suspected Gang Attack

Early on Sunday, gunfire outside a sizable house party in Dallas claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman and injured eight more in what investigators suspect to be a gang-related shooting.

When police arrived at the scene of the gunfire at 4500 Collins Avenue at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, they discovered that a sizable group of people from a neighboring party had migrated into the street, according to the Dallas Police Department.

By the time the police arrived, the firing had ceased, and nobody had been hit. A few cops stayed close by to keep an eye on the throng. Additional shots were fired around 1:35 a.m., hitting nine individuals in the throng, which at the time consisted of 45 to 50 persons, according to the police.

Private automobiles and paramedics rushed seven ladies and two men to nearby hospitals. Coriesha Bradford, age 21, passed away in a hospital, according to the police.

The remaining eight adult victims were predicted to live despite having non-life-threatening wounds.

According to an initial inquiry, one individual started shooting into the throng before other people started firing their firearms. Detectives think that gang activity played a role in the shooting, but they did not immediately disclose any other information.

Eddie Garcia, the chief of police in Dallas, announced that he has launched an internal inquiry to find out if the department might have handled the first call in a better way

“While the preliminary investigation determined officers who responded did not observe criminal activity among the people in the area at the time, this event ultimately led to tragic consequences,” Garcia stated. “Our homicide detectives are currently working to determine who was involved in this incident, and how.”

As of right now, no one has been arrested, and there is no description of any suspects.
