A Wilmington resident, 60, has won the top prize in the Payout Instant scratch-off game, bringing him $300,000 in newfound wealth. The winning ticket was bought at Tobacco Field II in New Castle by the man, who has opted to remain anonymous, the Delaware Lottery said. He picked up the award on August 27.

According to Delaware Lottery officials, he began playing the lottery a few years ago and enjoys playing the $30 tickets, typically winning a couple at a time. Even though he always sensed that he would succeed big time eventually, he was nonetheless taken aback when it really did.

Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery stated that, “We are very excited for this winner and happy to celebrate another big prize in our community. It’s truly a pleasure to share in the excitement of our winners as they walk through our doors to collect their prizes and reveal their plans for the future.”

According to officials, there are still two top prizes available for the Payout quick game, and there are still top prizes of $150,000 and $100,000 available for the $20 scratch-off Cashnado and $100K.

According to delottery.com, tickets are valid for a year after the game prize drawing date or for a year following the proclaimed end of sales for instant games.

How do You get your reward?

First things first, use an ink pen to write your name as the ticket owner on the back of the ticket. The Delaware Lottery states that a ticket’s ownership cannot be altered or transferred once it has been signed.

The Delaware Lottery Office is open for prize claims from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on business days, if the prize is valued $5,001 or more. A photo ID containing your name, address, and Social Security number is required.

All winning tickets for Lotto America, Mega Millions, and Powerball must be redeemed in the state and jurisdiction in which they were originally purchased.
