Democratic Offensive: $140M Campaign Sets Sights on Trump with Testimonial Ads

A significant Democratic super PAC used voter testimonies to warn of the dangers of former President Trump running for office again in the first round of advertisements it released on Monday as part of a $140 million campaign aimed at voters in crucial battleground states.

American Bridge 21st Century will employ direct mail and three television commercials in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to tell the tales of Americans who reside in suburban and exurban areas in those states that are considered battlegrounds.

The initial advertisements, which will cost $25 million, will highlight three different people.

One of them is an OB-GYN from Wisconsin who will address worries about the potential effects of a second Trump term on reproductive rights. She has a personal tale of abortion.

Another will be a father from Pennsylvania who will express worries about how Trump would take away the right to an abortion for his offspring and grandchildren.

In the third, two Pennsylvania-based retired nurses discuss their concerns about potential Trump health care access cuts.

“American Bridge is all in to defeat Donald Trump. We’ve been gearing up and planning for this cycle since the 2020 election,” the group’s co-founder, Bradley Beychok, stated.

“Through our organizing efforts, we’ve recruited hundreds of people living in these battleground states, who were willing to share their stories about why another Trump White House would be so devastating for them,” he continued. “We’re proud to provide the platform that ensures that voters in these key states hear their stories, and we know they’re going to make all the difference on Election Day.”

The goal of the group’s advertisements is to reach voters that campaigns might not have otherwise targeted in nonmajor media markets.

American Bridge is attempting to mobilize conservatives opposed to Trump as well as centrist voters who aren’t overly enthusiastic about either candidate.

As in 2020, when Biden won all three, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are predicted to be hotly contested states in November.

According to strategists, Biden’s best chance of winning reelection in November is if he sweeps all three states, which together form the Democratic Party’s “blue wall.”

According to an average Decision Desk HQ poll, Trump leads Biden in Michigan by three points, in Pennsylvania by less than two points, and in Wisconsin by one point.
