According to authorities, a drive-by shooting in Detroit on Monday afternoon resulted in the death of an 18-year-old guy and the injuries of another young man.
According to the Detroit Police Department, the two young men were shot during a drive-by shooting; the 19-year-old was hospitalized and in stable condition, while the 18-year-old died from his injuries.
The incident occurred outside an apartment building close to the intersection of Fenelon Street and Nevada Avenue, on the east side of Detroit, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the police.
It was unknown if the two victims were residents of the apartment building.
“What we do know now is that a vehicle did drive through the complex and opened fire on these individuals,” Detroit Police Commander Rebecca McKay said at a press conference.
Regarding the gunshot, no one has been taken into custody. However, McKay said authorities are still looking for suspects and attempting to identify the shooting’s purpose.

“Our prayers and our condolences go out to the families,” McKay stated. “As with any crime that happens in the City of Detroit, we need the community to help us. If you see something, say something. Just know that when we receive information, we follow up on every lead.”
