Driver Arrested, Passenger Killed in Shocking San Jose Home Crash

According to authorities, a driver who was suspected of driving under the influence was taken into custody on Saturday after she lost control and collided into a San Jose home’s second floor, killing her passenger.

The single car collision occurred near McKee Road and Francis Drive shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to the police.

Police said the driver, a woman, lost control while speeding west on McKee Road and cited a preliminary investigation. She struck the curb, crashed through a fence, and smashed into the second floor of a house after navigating the center median and all eastbound lanes.

The male passenger passed away at the site.

According to police, the occupants of the damaged residence were evacuated but did not sustain any injuries. According to authorities, this is the 23rd fatal collision in San Jose this year.
