Donna Deegan and Daniel Davis are running for the office of mayor of Jacksonville. Both joined supporters on the last day of early voting in Duval County, which was Sunday afternoon.
“We’re making our last push,” Davis remarked.
Deegan remarked, “It’s been a wonderful day, and wonderful last several days,” both of which he described as “wonderful.”
In an effort to win over Democratic voters like Mariano Mendez, who believes that early voting is extremely important, Deegan went to an event on the Northside called Souls to the Polls.
“Also, the number of people that show up to vote is consistently low. seeking the position of mayor of the city. According to Mendez, “the candidate that everyone actually wants can be in there with a higher turnout if there are more people to vote and more people actually vote.”
According to reports from observers of the upcoming election obtained by Action News Jax, Deegan will need a sizable advantage going into Tuesday in order to combat the anticipated surge of Republican supporters.
At the Chimney Lakes Elementary School, Davis was joined by the Sheriff of Jacksonville, T.K. Waters, as well as Senator Rick Scott.
“You have no choice but to cast your vote. “If you care about what happens in your neighborhood, you have a responsibility to exercise your right to vote,” said Scott.
Eric Moore did not specify which candidate he backs, but he did stress the importance of voters having their opinions heard.
“It’s very important because it’s a big contrast between the opponents, and it’s very important for people to come out and make their decision and come out and vote,” said Moore. “It’s very important because it’s a big contrast between the opponents.”
Both Deegan and Davis shared with us their thoughts on what distinguishes them from one another and why they should be elected mayor of Jacksonville instead of the other candidate, Davis.

“We shall create a city that pulls the people inside of the city government rather than one that is merely used towards a small number of people. According to Deegan, “That’s the big difference between transparency and inclusion; that’s the big difference between transparency and inclusion.”
This coming Tuesday is Election Day, and polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
