Early on Saturday morning in Cooper City, a car accident that left the car sliced in half claimed the life of a man.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports that the collision occurred near the intersection of Sheridan Street and N University Drive.
According to the sheriff’s office, “deputies located the car split in half on scene.”
At the scene, the person was pronounced deceased. Authorities say that another man was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The westbound and eastbound lanes of Sheridan Street between Pine Island Road and University Drive are expected to be shut down for several hours due to the traffic crash investigation. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Respondents were BSO deputies, Pembroke Pines police officers, fire rescue personnel, and representatives from Trauma Services and the Broward County Office of Medical Examiner.

There were automobile bits and a bumper on the street. The road has tire marks on it. Police in Pembroke Pines requested that motorists avoid the area and barred access to it. Deputies from the BSO looked into the crash.
