Fatal Hit-and-Run in West Palm Beach Authorities Seek Driver

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A tragic incident occurred in West Palm Beach, resulting in the death of a woman from Palm Springs. The responsible driver is still being sought by investigators.

According to the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD), the incident took place at around 2:41 a.m. on Sunday. Penelope Lynn Kenyon, a 55-year-old woman, was crossing the street with her step-brother when she was hit by a vehicle.

The authorities received a call and promptly responded to the scene on Belvedere Road, located just west of I-95. Emergency responders found Kenyon in critical condition and immediately transported her to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries during surgery at 5:33 a.m. Her step-brother, aged 52, escaped unharmed.

Investigators have determined that Kenyon and her step-brother were traveling from the Wawa gas station to the IHOP Restaurant when the accident occurred.

The West Palm Beach Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit recovered evidence at the site, leading them to believe that the involved vehicle is a black Cadillac ATS or CT4.

They have noted that the car should display damage to the front right corner and is missing its passenger side mirror. Furthermore, investigators have obtained video footage of the crash and are currently reviewing it for additional insights.

If you possess any information regarding the accident, the identity of the driver, or if you happen to spot a Cadillac matching the provided description with corresponding damages, please contact the West Palm Beach Police Department at 561-822-1900.
