MIAMI – The native of Michigan known as “White Boy Rick,” whose life as a drug dealer and undercover FBI informant inspired a film of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey, found himself back behind bars after serving more than three decades in jail. The film was inspired by his time spent as a drug dealer and undercover FBI informant. This time, in the county of Miami-Dade.
Richard “White Boy Rick” Wershe Jr., 53, was taken into custody by police officers on Tuesday. He was accused of assaulting his girlfriend of four months after a confrontation that took place at his condominium in the Quantum on the Bay complex, which is situated at 1900 N. Bayshore Drive in the Edgewater district of Miami.
The building is located in Miami. According to the authorities, an argument broke out between the two parties while they were having sex.
According to the arrest record from the Miami Police Department, when police officers searched Wershe, they discovered that he was in possession of the keys to a Lamborghini, approximately $11,000 in cash, a gold Rolex watch, two gold necklaces, and a set of AirPods. All of these items were found in his possession during the search.
According to the complaint that was filed by the Miami police department, the lady, who had been injured and had bruises, explained to investigators on Tuesday at the Miami police station that she had delayed reporting the incident when it occurred on Saturday because of her legal status.
Wershe allegedly came running into the station seeking for his car keys while she was there, and he did so while she was there.
Victims of crimes who are immigrants in the United States, whether legally or illegally, are protected by federal law.
The following is a description of the alleged domestic violence incident given by a police officer:
Wershe mentioned the name of another woman while the two of them were engaging in sexual activity together. When she tried to rapidly pull away to get out of the bed, he grabbed her left arm forcibly and seized a diamond bracelet and necklace that he had previously purchased for her.
She was able to get away and attempt to throw a shoe at him, but she missed, and Wershe was able to catch up to her and hit her. A witness allegedly saw Wershe strike his fiancée in the chest, and the witness reported witnessing it happen.
The witness’s identity as well as the reason for his or her presence are not revealed in the police report.
Wershe began working as an FBI informant when he was just 14 years old. As a direct result of his investigation, some of Detroit’s most powerful drug traffickers were brought to justice.
After some time, in 1987, he was taken into custody with 9,000 grams of cocaine and $30,000 in cash. Wershe was released from prison in the year 2020 after serving decades behind bars in both Michigan and Florida.
According to the court and prison records of Miami-Dade County, Florida, correctional authorities at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center released Wershe on a $5,000 bail. On Wednesday, he was facing accusations of robbery by abrupt snatching, which is a third-degree felony, as well as a misdemeanor assault charge.
