Six months after Hamas operatives abducted the hostages from southern Israel, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) persisted in demanding that the organization free its captives.
Fetterman has had pictures of every hostage taken by Hamas hanging on the walls of his Senate office since the attack on October 7.
The Israel Defense Forces claim that the terrorist group is holding over 100 captives, while the precise number is unknown given Hamas’s recent declaration that it did not have 40 detainees that met the requirements for a settlement with Israel. In captivity, at least thirty hostages have perished.
Fetterman stated in the caption of a video on X, “With a somber Passover approaching, I remain committed to speaking about this travesty and acknowledge there can’t be true lasting peace until the hostages are home.”
“And I’ll never understand why we’re not talking about that more and why there’s not more stories about that in the media,” Fetterman adds in the video. “It’s very clear that we always make sure that we always talk about this and demand that and make sure until every last one is accounted for and brought back home.”
The senator from Pennsylvania demanded that Hamas release the remaining hostages and surrender. Since roughly 170 days ago, when Hamas attacked, Fetterman has steadfastly supported Israel.
Last year, in exchange for Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons on suspicion of crimes, Hamas consented to free a number of hostages.

Last November, Israel and Hamas agreed to a brief truce during which time captives were exchanged. However, Hamas abruptly ended the agreement early by firing rockets at Israel.
