First Lady Jill Biden criticized former President Trump’s treatment of women on Friday as she inaugurated Women’s History Month with a campaign event in Georgia.
Mrs. Biden initiated Women for Biden, a campaign initiative aimed at mobilizing women voters, delivering her remarks in the Atlanta area.
While highlighting President Biden’s achievements and commitment to safeguarding reproductive health care, Jill Biden also directed criticism towards Trump, the presumed GOP nominee.
“He spent a lifetime tearing us down and devaluing our existence. He mocks women’s bodies, disrespects our accomplishments, and brags about assault,” Biden stated, alluding to Trump’s previous remarks found on a “Access Hollywood” recording.
“Now, he’s bragging about killing Roe v. Wade,” the first lady stated. “Just last night, he took credit again for enabling states like Georgia to pass cruel abortion bans that are taking away the right of women to make their own health care decisions. How far will he go? When will he stop. You know the answer. He won’t.”
She continued, “Donald Trump is dangerous to women and to our families.”
The comments provided a potential glimpse into how the first lady might be utilized as a campaign surrogate in the upcoming months.
As part of the Women for Biden initiative, the first lady intends to engage with female voters in crucial swing states, including Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin.
The campaign is set to launch digital ads this week highlighting her travels to battleground states, with additional ads specifically targeting women scheduled to run throughout November.
