Florida Man Charged with Aggravated Assault in Road Rage Gun Case

PALM COAST, Fla. – According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, a Florida man was arrested for allegedly brandishing a gun at another driver during a road rage incident.

The individual, identified as Roberto Navarro from Jacksonville, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident that occurred on a Sunday.

Upon receiving reports of a driver pointing a gun at another motorist during a road rage altercation, deputies promptly responded to the scene at the intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Old Kings Road in Palm Coast. They later located Navarro driving on the Interstate-95 northbound ramp.

Based on their investigation, deputies concluded that Navarro had pointed a black 9mm Taurus handgun at someone during the incident at the intersection. The firearm was discovered in the glove compartment of Navarro’s car.

Following his arrest, Navarro was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and was subsequently released on a $15,000 bond.

Sheriff Rick Staly emphasized that resorting to violence, such as pointing a gun during road rage, is never the appropriate response and can have fatal consequences.

He urged drivers to distance themselves from potentially dangerous situations and to seek assistance by calling the authorities if necessary.
