A callous woman from Florida allegedly attempted to sell her kid for $500 at a bank, but nobody acted upon her offer, and last week the child was abandoned.
An employee of the bank approached Jessica Woods, 33, who was observed idly waiting outside an H&R Block store in Palatka, Florida, with her 18-month-old daughter.
The worker had identified Woods as the woman who lived nearby and even changed her daughter in the bank’s washroom.
According to a probable cause document seen by the Daily Mail, Woods was once seen spanking and elbowing her daughter inside the restroom.
Woods was discovered dozing off on an outdoor air conditioner the following morning, March 5, as her daughter was unwrapped in a nearby shopping cart.
When the worried bank staff asked the woman if she needed assistance, Woods is said to have demanded money.
The site claims that after her demands were not satisfied and the staff offered to purchase the two items, Woods became so irate that she hurled her child.
Woods went back to the bank later that day, and she put her toddler down there, and he began crawling toward the cars right away.
When the worker collected the child, Woods inquired as to if she would like to buy her daughter.
According to a news statement from the Palatka Police Department, “Woods told the citizen she did not need anything but, offered to sell the child to the citizen for $500. When the citizen refused to purchase the child, Woods walked away, leaving her daughter behind.”
In order to clean the youngster up, the employee carried her inside the bank before calling the police to report Woods’ heinous actions.
Before the Department of Children and Families could arrive and take custody of the girl, officers placed the youngster in their care.
“As a result of an investigation, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Woods charging her with child abuse, child neglect, and abandonment of a child.”
Since then, the kid has been placed in foster care.
Woods was found on March 7 and was charged with six felonies, according to jail records that The Post was able to get.
She was taken to the Putnam County Jail and charged with three counts of abuse of a child without great bodily harm, unlawful desertion of a child, aggravated child abuse, and selling or surrendering a kid for money or property.
A $255,000 bond was required in light of the charges, according to court documents.
