FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — After being attacked, robbed, and abandoned in a canal, the senior from Fort Pierce who had suddenly gone after signing over his home for $10 without realizing it a month ago and then signing it back over again has been recovered.
It was just a week after Claude Frye recounted his tale about how he lost his home in a real estate transaction that he didn’t comprehend that Frye vanished; he was last seen getting into a man’s vehicle outside of his house. Frye’s narrative was about how he lost his home in a real estate deal that he didn’t understand.
Frye hadn’t been seen in over three weeks, and his worried next-door neighbor Vince Errico was going crazy with fear. The new homeowners had emptied out the house, and all of Frye’s belongings had been left behind.
“I had no clue. Errico responded with, “I had no idea where he was.”
As it turns out, Errico claims that Frye was found in the emergency department of a hospital in West Palm Beach; however, it is unknown how Frye got there or what transpired in the time in between.
According to Errico, “Well, a person took him down there supposedly to get some money that was owed to him,” and he explained what happened next.
Frye was reportedly robbed on March 17 when he was in a park in Fort Lauderdale, as stated in a report by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. The burglar made off with Frye’s wallet, which had $900 in cash, as well as his phone.
“And then proceeded to beat him severely. And in order to get away, he leaped out of the automobile and into the ocean. They abandoned him to his death in the ocean. Errico said that the individual had expressed the belief that he was going to pass away.
Errico was finally successful in locating Frye at a homeless shelter in Vero Beach after making multiple calls to various police departments; nevertheless, it remained a mystery how Frye had arrived at the facility.
This week, a friend picked Frye up from the shelter and phoned WPBF 25 News Investigative Reporter Terri Parker to let her know that he was safe and that she could finally speak to him again on the phone.
Frye said that the one who had driven him to Fort Lauderdale was the same person who had beaten and robbed him.
“He was beating my face until I was knocked out, and then he threw me in the water,” she said. “He was beating my face until I was knocked out.” “I have no idea how I was able to survive,” Frye added.
Errico said that it was a lucky break that several witnesses pulled Frye from the sea and took him to the hospital.
Errico has invested a significant amount of time and effort in locating his neighbor, locating him a secure place to reside, and contacting the authorities to inquire about what took transpired.
Simply because no one else is going to do it. You should realize that he did not merit the things that have been done to him. “He’s even gone as far as telling me that there’s nobody, nobody, nobody out there who can assist him,” stated Errico.
The robbery of Frye is still being investigated by detectives from Broward County, and a significant portion of the incident report has been suppressed since the investigation is ongoing.
