Federal officials claim that for decades, the founder of a nonprofit organization that supports children with disabilities sexually assaulted adolescents.
On September 5, the FBI’s Orlando Resident Agency and Tampa Division declared that they are looking for other James “Jamie” Grover victims. Grover, who founded the organization Special Need Advocacy Program (SNAP) to provide opportunities to people with special needs, and who serves as the group director for Autism on the Seas, is accused of having targeted boys mostly between 2010 and the present.
Three victims who had volunteered for SNAP at some point came forward and claimed they were juveniles when the alleged abuse started, according to a federal complaint.
Grover gave them the impression that it would be “crazy” for them to come forward, the teenagers allegedly told officials. “If you tell anyone, your family won’t believe you because you are an autistic child,” Grover allegedly said to one of the victims.

Grover was questioned by an FBI agent in July, according to the complaint that WTVT looked into, but he refuted the accusations and stated the teenagers “wanted attention.” One of the victims, according to Grover, “is not an honest person and has a history of lying.”
Investigators are said to have discovered a pornographic tablet and the razor that was reportedly used to shave a victim during a search of Grover’s home.
He was registered as a federal prisoner and lodged in the Seminole County Jail. The FBI claims that he is accused of sexually abusing a youngster.
