Gainesville Police Officers Spend Almost 5 Hours in Standoff With Barricaded Murder Suspect!

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers spent almost five hours tonight in the 2900 block of NE 12th Street in an attempt to arrest a barricaded attempted murder suspect.

Officers were called to the Circle K located in the 3800 block of North Main Street at around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, where they discovered an adult man who had suffered several knife wounds. The victim is still alive as of the time this article was written.

The victim was able to provide police with broad information regarding the location of the stabbing, according to the GPD. A GPD K-9 team did an item search and located a likely crime scene on NE 12th Street.

The investigation was carried out by the detectives, and they came up with a probable reason to arrest Torrance Lee, who is 38 years old.

After Lee’s parents contacted 911 and reported that their son, Torrance Lee, was acting erratically, police officers were sent to a house in the 2900 block of NE 12th Street at around 6 o’clock this evening.

cops instantly realized that the call was linked to the stabbing that had occurred on Monday night, and a large number of cops raced to the residence, where Lee had barricaded himself inside a bedroom. It is thought that Lee has a knife.

Both the Negotiation Response Squad (NRT) and the Special Weapons and Tactics Squad were present at the location.

The GPD asked for an RTS bus so that the deceased man’s loved ones and friends could travel in comfort.

Since the year 2020, Lee has been arrested a total of six times for domestic assault, but each time the accusations against him have been dismissed.

He has spent time on two state prison terms, and his four felony convictions are all for violent crimes. He also has four misdemeanor convictions, three of which are all for violent crimes.
