The arrest of five individuals from Florida was announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
These men are suspected of being a member of a criminal organization that used gas pump skimmers to steal fuel and personal identity information from numerous states.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida released an official statement. Roger B. Handberg: Five people were accused of participating in a multi-state gas pump skimming device scheme involving the theft of diesel fuel.
They were also charged with four charges of wire fraud, fifteen counts of access device fraud, and three counts of aggravated identity theft.

Every suspect faces a minimum mandatory penalty of two years in prison for each count of aggravated identity theft, up to 20 years in federal prison for each count of wire fraud, up to 10 years in prison for each count of access device fraud, up to five years in prison for conspiracy, and payment of restitution to the victims they defrauded.

The people put skimmers on petrol pumps in the north Florida region and other states, allegedly working with others and collectively, according to court records.
Their fake credit and debit cards were created using the account numbers that the skimmers had obtained, and they were mostly utilized to buy diesel fuel.
The conspirators would dump the stolen fuel into fuel yards’ containers by using vehicles equipped with a bladder or container to pump the diesel fuel that was unlawfully obtained into, first.
A gas station connected to one of the accomplices then purchased the stolen fuel.
