Authorities in Portland reported that during two distinct traffic stops last week, they found weapons, drugs, and made numerous arrests.

According to officials, the Focused Intervention Team of the Portland Police Bureau conducted the traffic stops over the course of two days.

The initial traffic stop occurred on Thursday of last week, and two Portland citizens, Darius D. Riggins, 37, and Garvin Franklin, 44, were taken into custody. Both of them are accused with many gun-related offenses, including felon in possession of a handgun.

According to the police, the traffic stop took place in the North Lombard Street 7800 block. An automobile that the officer claimed was breaking traffic laws was pulled over.

“Neither the driver nor the passenger had driving privileges, so officers ordered a tow for the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, officers located a revolver in the rear passenger armrest,” PPB stated.

Last Friday, in the vicinity of Southeast 103rd Avenue and Southeast Ellis Street, there was a second traffic stop. Gilberto M. Felix, a 22-year-old Milwaukie resident, and Oscar A. Palomo, a 23-year-old Vancouver resident, were taken into custody as a result.
