Heartbreaking Loss: 19-year-old Motorcyclist Killed in Oldsmar Pickup Collision

OLDSMAR, Fla. — The death of a motorcyclist, who was 19 years old and was involved in a collision with a pickup truck on Tuesday in Oldsmar, was brought about by the accident.

A collision had taken place near the intersection of Tampa Road and East Lake Woodlands Parkway just a few minutes before 8 o’clock in the morning, and deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.

The findings of the investigation indicate that Harold Ellerby, 69, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet pickup truck when a motorcycle collided with the rear passenger side of the vehicle as it was turning left from Tampa Road into the entrance of East Lake Woodlands. The incident occurred as the truck was making the turn from Tampa Road into the entrance of East Lake Woodlands.

The rider of the Yamaha motorcycle that was involved in the collision was identified as 19-year-old Conner Holmes. He was thrown off the motorcycle when it was involved in the accident, and as a consequence, he sustained serious injuries.

After arriving at the hospital and being treated there for his injuries, Holmes was pronounced dead there a short while later. The findings of the investigation into the crash led investigators to the conclusion that Holmes was most likely traveling at a speed that was unsafe given the conditions at the time of the accident.

PCSO reports that Ellerby did not receive any injuries as a result of the incident. The investigation into what caused the crash is still active.
