The three children and their mother were no longer living with Marcos Antonio Gonzalez. The Gonzalez children, who are now aged 9, 13, and 15, had seen firsthand how their mother Raiza Cajuso’s and father’s relationship deteriorated into a strained one.

Detectives revealed on Saturday that the children were also victims of the deadly domestic abuse that transpired in Miami-Dade County.

A Miami-Dade Police Department spokeswoman, Detective Andre Martin, stated on Saturday that “one of the children of the two deceased was transported to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital,” adding that “the juvenile” was in the hospital as a precaution.

Martin stated that just before the suicide just before 8:35 a.m. on Saturday in Miami-Dade’s Westview area, police believe Gonzalez shot Cajuso in the chest fatally. The two deceased’s identities were made public by MDPD on Sunday.

On August 9 of this year, Gonzalez turned 40. In June, Cajuso turned 39.

The three-bedroom house near the intersection of West Randall Park Drive and Northwest 124 Terrace, which the Cajuso family has reportedly owned since 1987, served as the horrific crime scene. Police withheld the identity of the other adult residing in the house from the public.

“We were able to locate a firearm on the scene,” Martin stated on Friday.

Martin also issued a warning about domestic abuse to the neighborhood.

“We encourage anyone who is in any sort of domestic relationship that has turned or they think may turn violent to seek resources,” Martin stated. “Domestic violence injunctions are a very useful tool to try to address concerns.”

If you have any information regarding this or any other crime, detectives asked that you stay anonymous and contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
