Hialeah Man Faces Charges for Alleged Stalking Ex Using Apple AirTags

According to authorities, a Hialeah man was detained for reportedly stalking his ex-girlfriend, tracking her with Apple AirTags, and leaving her threatening voicemails.

According to Miami-Dade jail records, 57-year-old Roberto Janero-Quian was taken into custody on Thursday on suspicion of aggravated stalking and installing tracking devices.

An arrest report states that Janero-Quian’s partner broke up with him in October, but she claimed in January that he had been stalking and harassing her on a regular basis.

According to the report, she claimed he stopped by her house every day and that one day she found three concerning handwritten letters duct-taped to the windshield of her car.

She discovered Apple AirTags that were tracking her whereabouts in her automobile on at least two times, according to the report.

The woman said she blocked Janero-Quian’s phone but he continued to contact her through an unknown number and left her multiple threatening voicemails, saying if she didn’t call him, he would “do something bad to her,” the report stated.

Janero-Quian was placed under arrest. No attorney information was provided.
