Illinois Woman Fights Principal After Cocaine Baggies Spill at Elementary School

After reportedly clashing with the elementary school principle, who warned her during a meeting that police would be contacted because she had dropped baggies of cocaine, the woman was taken into custody in Illinois, according to reports.

Shakeda Barfield was involved in an incident that occurred at Welsh Elementary School in Rockford on Wednesday morning, according to WIFR.

According to the station, which cited police, Barfield was at the school for a meeting with the principal when she is said to have dropped suspected cocaine baggies. Barfield reportedly lost her cool when she heard that the police would be called to the scene when the principal came to retrieve the baggies.

The 33-year-old is charged with repeatedly striking the principal in the face, biting him, scuffing his face and arms, and strangling him with his tie, according to WIFR.

As to media reports, she is currently being charged with possession of a controlled substance, aggravated battery against a school official, and disruptive behavior.

According to documents, Barfield was being held without bond at the Winnebago County Jail as of Saturday.

What was discussed at the meeting isn’t immediately apparent. The school was put on temporary lockdown while the fight was going on.
