Jimmy Kimmel Mocks Trump's Delusion: No Crowd, Just Fabrication Outside Trial Courthouse

Tuesday, outside the Manhattan courtroom where Donald Trump’s hush money trial is being held, Jimmy Kimmel attacked the businessman for fabricating a story about “a crowd that wasn’t there.”

Currently on trial in New York, Mr. Trump, 77, is charged with 34 felonies for allegedly fabricating business records to conceal payments of hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

In October 2016, he reportedly gave Ms. Daniels, 45, $130,000 in exchange for her quiet on an alleged 2006 affair between the actor and her.

In addition to pleading not guilty to all of the allegations against him, Mr. Trump has denied having an affair and stated that the purpose of the charges is political in order to prevent him from winning the 2024 election.

The former president has urged his followers to assemble outside the courtroom where the trial is being held as part of his presidential campaign.

“GO OUT AND PEACEFULLY PROTEST. RALLY BEHIND MAGA. SAVE OUR COUNTRY,” he posted on Monday on Truth Social.

However, The New York Times reports that the majority of Trump fans were absent from the streets surrounding the courthouse on Monday morning, suggesting that his pleas appear to have been in vain.

Jimmy Kimmel saw right away that the former president, who is currently entangled in three other criminal matters, was not receiving any outward support.

He claimed that Donald Trump’s “popularity seems to be losing steam.”

“He seems to be less popular each day and he cannot deal with it. Donald Trump may be full of gas, but his supporters seem to be running out,” before playing a video of the nearly deserted streets outside the courtroom, the late-night host said.

“As you can see, no one showed up. I’m not sure if they’re saving their energy for one of his next criminal trials,” Mr. Kimmel remarked.
