Reminder stickers with the potential to save lives will be placed on petrol pumps in Kentucky.
Over two dozen children nationwide pass away every year as a result of being left in hot cars, according to the Kentucky State Police (KSP).
The Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) is reminding parents to check on their children when pumping gas by attaching new labels to gas pumps in light of this.
The stickers were applied by KDA inspectors to gas pumps that satisfied quality standards, confirming that the pumps had been inspected for leaks and for accuracy of the meter and pricing.

“That’s something that we as a department wanted to bring light to, and that’s what we’re here for this morning, is to announce that to let you all know that we’re going to have these inspection stickers that are going to add an extra special message to it,” Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell stated.
According to Shell, KDA is working with KSP to put the “extra special message” on the labels in an effort to save as many children’s lives as possible during the sweltering summer months.
