Those who drive into Logansport are mostly either locals or have some acquaintances who do.
However, according to authorities, five illegal immigrants entered the city on Monday and picked up a 14-year-old girl they had never met.
“It’s an eye opener, from what I deal with my kids to what I see out here,” Logansport Police Det. Jason Rozzi stated.
Rozzi claimed that in the middle of the night, the sergeant in charge of the investigation called him to ask him to ping the girl’s phone—that is, to use her phone to locate her.
“I mean, I don’t think they would have found her without it. So, yeah, it was a huge part of that whole scenario,” Rozzi stated.
After the girl vanished, that ping assisted Indiana police in finding her in Missouri within a few hours.
According to Cpl. Justin Dunn of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper was able to stop the car on U.S. 36 after receiving information about the girl’s whereabouts from Logansport Police.

“Obviously, they separate individuals during the course of that traffic stop to get everybody’s side of the story and who they are and where they’re going or where they’re traveling to and that was obviously done in that investigation,” Dunn stated. “Through that, the person being in question as being reported missing, their identity was identified and confirmed to the trooper by an interview with that individual.”
According to Dunn and Rozzi, the girl was corresponding with one of the boys on social media. No matter where you live, parents are urged to monitor their children’s phones.
The girl’s father reportedly went to pick her up from Missouri and bring her back home when the cops last checked on her.
