Love Gone Awry Woman Flees After Shooting Boyfriend, Ends Life in Alabama

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a man is dead after his girlfriend shot and murdered him in Tampa early on Wednesday morning before fleeing to Alabama and turning the pistol on herself.

After receiving a call from a “concerned family member,” deputies were sent to a residence in the 9200 block of Shellgrove Court just before seven in the morning.

Deputies discovered 50-year-old Kelbys Avila dead from a gunshot wound when they broke into the house. Later on, the HCSO found out that Maira Pacheco Nuñez, 58, Avila’s girlfriend, had shot him and left the scene.

Soon after, Pacheco Nuñez was the subject of an arrest warrant for second-degree murder with a firearm.

As per HCSO, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama observed the 58-year-old’s vehicle and pulled it over within an hour of the arrest warrant being issued.
