When daylight came, several companies had suffered serious damage. According to Lynnfield Fire Chief Glenn Davis, the majority of the businesses will probably fail completely.
Following the incident, which occurred while the shops were closed, no injuries have been recorded. The fire has destroyed everything for at least five businesses.
The strip mall in Lynnfield lacked sprinklers
According to early reports, the fire might have originated close to Old Towne Market, the strip mall’s center. Then, the fire spread to several surrounding establishments, including a Dunkin’.
According to Davis, the structure is ancient and lacks sprinklers. The strip mall’s common attic area allows the fire to spread swiftly along its whole length.
“That’s the problem with these old buildings, there’s no sprinklers in them,” Davis stated. It took several fire crews to extinguish the flames.
Local establishments damaged by fire
Old Towne Market is owned by Mohammad Oagdezzamann. The company has been run by his family for more than ten years.
“Looks like there is nothing left, everything collapsed as you can see,” he stated. “When we came here we started crying, broke down, it’s really horrible to see.”
The Lynnfield Medical office building and other nearby companies were forced to close on Wednesday due to the area’s gas and electrical outages. Jen Tremblay is employed at the mall.
“I can’t believe it, what this parking lot looks like right now. I feel so sad,” she stated.

Taylor Jenkins is a local resident. It’s a significant loss for the community, he said.
“That Dunks is full of locals every morning. My daughter did karate right at the Cervizzi’s on the corner, so it’s going to be pretty tough. And the little mart there, every time you go in you see somebody local, so it’s too bad,” he stated.
Although the origin of the fire is unknown, it is not thought to be suspicious. While the investigation is ongoing, the Massachusetts fire marshal will be visiting the strip mall on Wednesday morning.
