Authorities stated that a Florida man had dangled and thrown a child headfirst down a second-story hotel balcony in Daytona Beach over the weekend, leading to the guy’s arrest.
Following the incident that occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Sandlewood Resort, Brandon Gilmore, 31, is accused with severe child abuse, according to Daytona Beach Police Department authorities.
Police were called to the Sandlewood Resort on Saturday afternoon due to a trauma issue, according to the arrest document that Fox News Digital was able to get.
Gilmore admitted to the police that he had met the woman five hours before the incident at a hotel pool. Gilmore claimed in the arrest affidavit that the mother welcomed him to her room, where he asked to play with her son outside and “scare him a little bit.”
According to the authorities, Gilmore then went outside the hotel room, grabbed the youngster by his legs, and dangled him over the balcony.

According to the arrest affidavit, witnesses attested to the fact that the boy was dangling and that they had heard him scream before he was dropped, headfirst, from the two-story balcony.
According to the investigation, Gilmore and the woman had been drinking at the pool all day.
Gilmore’s claim and witness statements were corroborated by video surveillance footage of the incident, according to the police.
“The child is doing fine and has been discharged from the hospital and is not expected to have any long-term health issues as a result of this tragic event,” an officer with the Daytona Police Department stated.
The age of the child was not stated in the affidavit. Online jail records indicate that Gilmore is still being held without bond at the Volusia County Jail.
