Police described the shooting death of a 43-year-old man on Tuesday as a “execution-type homicide.” The guy was traveling to a Philadelphia mosque for evening prayers when he was shot multiple times.
Authorities stated that a suspect is still at large. We don’t yet know the motivation. Just before five o’clock in the evening ET, police were called to the 1500 block of Germantown Avenue in response to reports of gunfire and a shooting.
As per Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the man was discovered unconscious in the mosque’s parking lot, with several gunshot wounds to his head, chest, and body. He said the guy was declared dead when police took him to a nearby hospital in a hurry.
According to Small, the gunman left the parking area and entered a car. He was dressed in dark colors. According to Small, the gunshot in the parking lot was caught on camera.
“You can clearly see our victim walking to this mosque for a prayer service. He was walking with another male. You see the shooter run up behind the victim, and from just a few feet away, begin firing shots,” Small stated.
After the victim fell onto the parking lot, the shooter resumed firing, according to Small.

“Our victim clearly appears to be the intended target,” he stated.
The victim’s identity is still unknown. According to the authorities, the man the victim was walking with was unharmed. According to Small, there were seventeen expended round casings from a large caliber semi-automatic rifle recovered at the scene.
According to Small, the suspect car is thought to be a dark-colored sedan with a replacement or donut tire on the passenger-side front wheel. Multiple witnesses to the incident have been located by police, who will be looking through more nearby security footage, according to Small.
According to authorities, there is a $20,000 prize for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
